Tuesdays of Texture is a really awesome weekly feature. You can read about it over here; but the short version is I want to see a bit of your world so link up your post in the comments!
Did I mention that the trek to this river was… a little on the harsh side? That we had to walk up a road and then enter private farming land (with permission, because everyone knows everyone) and then spiral down a high mountain through a thin path so steep that we had to hold on to bushes and trees to not slip down?
No? My brain has a badass defensive system. My mom was commenting on it, I forget the most horrible things some people have said to me, but remember the best and happiest moments with them. Which is an awesome way to feel lighter and pick yourself up after an emotional down, but is also problematic when you need to stand up for yourself.
Like, the blackout? in a few weeks I won’t remember how Baby J and I slept drenched in sweat before my father was able to find a power plant that could connect the fans (and the fridge), or how I heated three different pre-made foods before I gave up and made white rice-alone- for Baby J because I’ve gotten her used to fresh homemade food and the downside was that I needed to find such food in an island with no power and no gas stove. (Am buying a portable one as soon as I have a few bucks.)
I actually freaked out and headed to Wendy’s thinking I might find something to eat but then I saw the line getting to the end of the place and decided not to risk a two hour wait line, with a tired Baby J.
But all I will remember later will be how much we played together and how much we enjoyed the little simple things. Although, there was a hashtag on facebook about how we “went back to being people ” because the blackout made us go outside, talk to people, watch the stars; and I’m not taking any of that crap. That blackout was a nightmare for anyone who medically needed power and for everyone with a full fridge or freezer.
Anyway. It was a thirty minute intense trek going up back from the river. I stopped three times to catch my breath, both because it was so hard and because my fitness condition is around -192% at this point.
Go hop over this beautiful participations shared last week:
Have a happy day! And remember to share a bit of it with me!

Unless you’re lost in the woods, a walk in the forest is always a good thing for the soul 😉

Am biased, the moss is to me the most favorite of your textures this week. Have a great rest of the week:) My contribution is the rounded tracks, filled with water.

Very glad to find you via Cee. I added a couple of pictures and I’ll be following you 🙂 Texture often gets lost in glare of bright color, so nice to have it get center stage at least once a week 🙂

Glad you found me too! I followed you back, thanks for coming by and sharing your post with me 🙂 I began doing Tuesdays of Texture as a way to begin noticing textures more while composing images because I began to notice that textural images where some of my favorites but I didn’t have a ton of them. Sometimes texture is not even the most abundant on a photo and still, is the thing that brings the image to the top.
I look forward to reading you! Off to your blog!

wow – the black out was quite an experience – and I enjoyed the part about finding the balance to foegetting and overlooking mean things and then other times standing up (when needed) – and the texture in the green is vibrant and filled with life.

The blackout was a whole thing that went down in history and now our children and the children of our children will have to hear us complaining about it forever 🙂 I don’t even put any effort into the way my brain chooses the good things, but yeah. It’s pretty cool.
I don’t know but green sort of makes the textural part better. Thanks for coming by prior!

I found my texture in the paraphernalia of shrimp and lobster fishermen on Prince Edward Island. https://judydykstrabrown.com/2016/09/28/tuesdays-of-texture-week-40/

Oh my! Thank you! I usually keep good tabs but there’s been more participations and it’s harder to get everyone. I was counting on catching missed links with the tag on the reader, but yours didn’t showed there.

Thanks, I thought there was a problem with my pingbacks not showing up, this confirms it grrr 😣
On a positive note though, great to see T of T gaining traction – Bravo 👏

The pingbacks issue; it’s still everyone right? That has taken so long to fix! And it’s such an essential tool for blogs that host.
And, it is blogs like yours who make events bigger, so thank YOU for sharing your posts with me and sharing Tuesdays of Texture with your readers 🙂

At this point I think the pingback problem is just me and it is just for outgoing links.
I receive them fine from others, but for some reason when I post a link to someone else’s blog the link works but they don’t receive the pingbank.
I should probably send a note to the Word Press elves to look into it.

Nah, I don’t think it’s just you, I’ve read other blogs mentioning it, last week was the last time. I think it’s going on for some people. But yes, let them know!

Norm you don’t post a pingback directly to another blog via this comment option,. for example this is my link back to my entry for TOT week 40 https://micksinernestblog.wordpress.com/2016/10/04/tuesdays-of-texture-week-40-of-2016/ this allows the host to check your post out. The latter is what most challenge host ask for, plus the often suggest the use of a tag, for this challenge I use TOT. Back to your pingback issue…. 1st copy the link for, in this instance week 40, this link https://narami.wordpress.com/2016/09/27/tuesdays-of-texture-week-40-of-2016, which you can add to your blog post as is, and anywhere in the blog, but normally as the last item. I us the add link option after first highlighting Tuesdays of Texture | Week 40 of 2016, which I add as the last entry in my blog post. All you do now is paste the link in the box, and if you wish select the open in another tab option and then click on add link or just go straight to add link. click and your pingback is done. Hope this helps. Much respect,
Mick

I like the pictures, but I’m sorry to hear about your -192% fitness (similar to mine). You should relax for a bit and try to get that fitness way up to -110% or something. 🙂

I have the intention to do so! Sometimes I do 20mins of cardio but I really have to schedule for it everyday 🙂

Doing 20 minutes of cardio is pretty good! Even if you’re just doing it every other day, I’m sure it’ll have a positive effect. 🙂

I had the notion that anything under 30 mins every single day was like doing nothing, but; I made up my mind about doing 20 mins whenever I can (about 3 times a week) and I end up meeting the goal and feeling like at least I did something. I’m hoping I can start feeling like I can dance 3 songs without fainting. That would be good 🙂

Well, I don’t know much (anything, to be honest) and health and fitness. But doing 20 minutes of cardio three times a week sounds like a lot better than doing nothing at all (my current exercise regimen). I hope you’re able to dance freely soon! 🙂
