About me

I began blogging when blogging didn’t exist, in 2001.

I was in college and had time to write stories, poems and creative stuff that now seem to have left my fingers. I also had time to read and meditate, which might explain the change. Then I got a job in the pharmaceutical industry in 2004 and I began exploring my island and discovering new hobbies. That’s how this blog evolved to be the place where I wrote about my work, that time I met Johnny Depp, my adventures in aikido, acting, biolumisnicent lagoons, that time I tried to mountain bike but instead almost died, all the concerts I went to and that occasion when I thought zippering over a one hundred plus abysm was a fun thing to do on a free day.

From 2013 until June 2016 I worked from home and lived with the father of my daughter almost two hours from the house I grew up in, into the rural parts of Puerto Rico.

These days I’m a  full time mom. My daughter was born June first 2013, she’s three though most of the time she has better ideas and expressions that most of the adults I know, and I affectionately call her Little J.

I like photography, sewing books and reading books, music, movies, food, good coffee, the beach, wine and chocolate.

I dislike geckos, inside out socks, repeating myself, loud cars and humus.

I write about things I Remember, Dancing on Mondays, life lessons and motherhood.  I host Tuesdays of Texture every Tuesday and I’d love to see your post over there.

I keep my blog award free, but if you thought of nominating me for an award know that I would party with you.  You are awesome, thank you!

I hope you enjoy your visit.  Don’t be shy and say hi and then stay a while!

Improv Everywhere is AMAZING! Their MP3 Project is famous for being one of their biggest, though Pantless in the Subway Day is done world wide 🙂

Pass the word! I hope your cousin gets to participate and enjoys it.

(if you are on twitter you can follow me at naramilee, otherwise, a comment anywhere is awesome; I’ll always get to it!)

I have only had the good fortune of one brief visit to Puerto Rico due to a 10-hour layover at the airport when our other connecting flight was rescheduled. At first, we thought how awful the circumstance that we had to wait so long — it turned into a wonderful opportunity to get a glimpse of Puerto Rico (because of limited time, we just took a cab into Old San Juan and walked to El Morro and San Cristobal, but also had time to sample some of the wonderful island food at a little bustling cafe. I hope to return some day! ~ Kat B.

I’m very glad to hear you turned that incident into an opportunity to see a bit of this beautiful island! Walking around Old San Juan is one of the top 5 touristic experiences, so you really spent those hours well 🙂 I hope you are able to come back one day with more time to explore and experience the charm of the place. Thanks for coming by!

Oh don’t get me started on inside-out socks! 😀 But new socks… oh new socks are a like putting a little piece of heaven on your toes for a few minutes. I adore new socks. Sadly the magic is lost the first time in the wash. If I ever win the lottery (hmmmm… might help if I played it) I shall have a brand new pair of socks every day.

I have established in this house that socks that are thrown into the hamper inside out are going to be washed inside out, dried inside out and then put back into the drawer INSIDE OUT. Because MEN xo| I do not understand why he can’t just put them in their right side when he takes them off!

And yes, new socks every day is a luxury that people should be able to have 🙂

Hi there, nice to meet you! I really love your blog design.
May I ask where did you find your background image? I’m looking for something similar and can’t find anything normal 🙂
    Have a good day!
